Our History
The northeast chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey was created in April of 2003. The founder and first president discovered that beside himself; five blind people in the surrounding ten blocks of his community had never heard of the NFB. He felt there was a need for a chapter to support the blind in the northeast part of the state. The past two years have seen our chapter grow from seven members to its present number of 29.
Our chapter meets monthly. We organize and participate in community awareness projects, and sponsor fund raising events to fund our projects. Recently we have started producing a public access television show, internet radio show and a website.
