After working in broadcasting a number of years, he received training and became a licensed blind vendor. He also attended an NFB Residential Training Center, the Colorado Center for the Blind. That experience and NFB conventions as well as the writings of Dr. Kenneth Jernigan changed his life. He believes that the NFB inspired and educated him and he's attempted to give back over this past 20 years. He now operates troop dining services at Ft Carson Colorado. He was selected last year by NFB President Dr. Maurer to chair our Imagination Fund. He was elected in 2000 to be the President of the National Association of Blind Merchants. NABM provides mutual support, training, advocacy and leadership development for blind vendors under the Randolph-Sheppard Program and other blind entrepreneurs. For the past 4 years, he along with an outstanding NABM team, have been the principle planners of BLAST, Business, Leadership and Superior Training for blind entrepreneurs. BLAST has become the preeminent training and networking event for the blind in business. He has a lovely and talented wife Bridget and a 16 year old blind son who will be a Sophomore in high school with a 3.8 GPA.
