Dr. Moore is Director of the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Blindness and Low Vision at Mississippi State University and holds a joint appointment as Professor of Counselor Education in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education. He is a former Director of Mississippi Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind and a Past - President of the National Council of State Agencies for the Blind. He is also a Past - President of Prevent Blindness - Mississippi and a former member of the International Board of Directors of the Association for Education and Rehabillitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER). He served as lead editor of the textbook - Foundations of Rehabilitation Counseling with Persons who are Blind or Visually Impaired - published by AFB Press. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Visual Impairment and Blindness and has published extensively on a variety of rehabilitation topics.
