The New Jersey Foundation for the Blind promotes the well-being of the blind in the State of New Jersey; provides rehabilitation services; and stimulates and encourages social, economic and recreational development in order to foster independence.

The NJFFB educates, entertains, and helps develop potential earning power and independence through a diverse program which includes Braille, cane travel, typing, script writing, Computer literacy and navigation skills, telephone dialing, money folding, cooking, laundry skills, personal grooming, nutrition and health, music appreciation, and arts and crafts.

.
An increasing number of individuals are particularly interested in computer technology and keyboarding skills, since these classes fulfill students' needs for social as well as career development.

In addition to the programs listed, students can also receive instruction in how to use other assistive devices such as Braillewriters, note-takers, and CCTV's. At the foundation, a nutritionist helps modify meal offerings for those with special health needs, and the program teaches blind people how to safely prepare their own meals at home.
Transportation services allow more students from a wider geographic area to be included in our classes and social activities.

Founded in 1942, the New Jersey Foundation for the Blind helps the blind and visually impaired return to the mainstream of life as independent citizens.

After being headquartered in Newark for many years, the Foundation purchased 26 acres of property in Denville in 1955, where the Foundation continues to operate.
